I am so excited! We are finally getting the keys to our new house. We closed back in March, but the previous owners have been renting from us for the last month or so.
It is so crazy to think that we own a home. It is raining really hard right now and all I can think is I hope the basement doesn't flood. Yeah for home ownership.
So as many of you know we are planning to make several changes to the home before moving in. They include:
-Ripping out the old flooring and putting in new tile in the entryway, kitchen, and half bath.
-Painting the kitchen cupboards and adding new hardware
-Adding a tile backsplash to the kitchen counters.
-Installing a over the range microwave
-Painting the kitchen, family room, Kennedy's room, and master bedroom.
-Installing floorboards and chair rail boards (whatever those are called??)
-Building and installing a new cabinet in the kitchen along a currently empty wall.
-Installing a few ceiling fans
-Putting in a small vegetable garden
Well I think that should keep us busy for the next two months. Typing the list made me realize just how crazy we are. Hopefully, we will get to at least half of these things. Stay tuned!

I am so excited for you! If you ever need a babysitter while you get some work done, we'd be happy to have Kennedy.
ReplyDeleteWow that's a packed to do list!! When are you actually going to move in? Hopefully before you're 39 weeks prego! Good luck getting it all done. This is so exciting!! I'm anxious to be a home owner....someday. Be sure to get before and after pictures.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Mark and Monette, take lots of pictures because it will feel like you've accomplished something on the days that you don't think that you got a thing done. Also Rachel remember to rest a lot because it isn't worth bedrest.
