Kennedy's Preschool Graduation

Kennedy was so proud of her diploma.
I really can't imagine what it will be like when my kids start graduation from High School. Kennedy getting a printed off diploma from "junior preschool" on a blanket in a park about put me over the edge. I can't believe how OLD that kid is getting. No more growing up! I mean it.
On a good note, I did have an excuse to pull out my cake decorating gear. I was assigned the treat for graduation and came up with some cute little graduation cup cakes. Super fun and really easy.
I guess the kids can keep getting older as it will often involve cake.
Enjoying a yummy graduation cupcake.

We opted to make graduation visors rather than the traditional mortar board hats. The girls loved putting stickers and glitter on them.
My creations. Yum!
Kennedy receiving her diploma. We are all so proud!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day this year was wonderful. Tim went out of his way to make me feel special. He made me breakfast in bed and an amazing dinner. (Boy can my man cook!) He even sprung for flowers!
It was also nice because Kennedy is old enough to know that it is a special day and she gave me lots of hugs. Abby even got in on the act with her adorable version of the phrase "Happy Mother's Day." I love being a mom!
My sweet Abby
The lovely Miss Kennedy (sporting my necklace because
"Girls have necklaces and boys have necks!")
Kennedy got a hold of the camera. Tim looks so tall.
More Kennedy photography

She calls this one "Helicopter on a Hot Car Hood"
This one is my favorite. She caught Abby in the act. What a little bandit!

Abby's First Campout

The weather was finally nice enough for us to go camping this year. This was also Abby's first camping trip which is crazy because she is almost two. We are such slackers! Abby made up for lost time though rolling around in the dirt and collecting sticks and rocks. Kennedy and her had a riot goofing around in the tents and looking for "wild animals".
We went up to Brighton Recreational Area and tried the Appleton Lake campground. It was almost like Utah camping with a little more seclusion than other Michigan sites we've tried. Here are some pictures of of our adventure:
Daddy and the girls pitching the tent. Kennedy thought this was so cool.

Kennedy brought her own little tent to play in. She loved having her own "house" in the woods.

Enjoying a S'more. Yum!

Daddy and marshmallow face Abby.

I think Abby likes marshmallows.

Kennedy showed us how to write all the letters in the dirt. She was so excited to learn that her world was just a giant coloring book and all she needed was a stick.

Abby playing hide and seek.

Kennedy tried her hand fishing. The fish kept taking our bait and she said, "Mom I don't want to FEED the fish, I want to CATCH them!" Tim said we could try one more time, and we hooked one. Kennedy was a little nervous to see it jumping out of the water. While Tim was getting the camera to take a picture, the fish got free. Kennedy was happy and even waved it goodbye. I'm glad I didn't have to dig the hook out. Everyone won!

Picnic at our neighbor hood park. Yeah for warm weather!

Real Life Farm Adventure

Kennedy's preschool went of the greatest field trip ever this past month. It's called the Real Life Farm run by Farmer Dan, the nicest old farmer around. The kids get to go on a haide, ride horses, milk a cow, feed baby animals, pet all the animals, and there is an amazing playground there to boot. I pretty much want to move into the barn. It was a blast. Here are some of the highlights.
Farmer Dan telling the kids about all life on the farm. He was so great with the kids.
Kennedy and her friend Katelyn on the hayride.
I got to lead Abby around on Oakey the miniature horse. Abby loved it!
Kennedy wanted to ride this horse because it looked just like Hoss and Joe.

Abby petting a bunny. She didn't know what to do when he hopped away.

Kennedy holding a baby duck. Can you tell she loved this place?
Milking Bossy the cow. Kennedy was a little nervous to milk solo so I helped out a little.
Feeding the baby goat. She said they were tickling her with their tongues.
Feeding the baby goat a bottle. Boy can those kids suck!
The girls and the Strum kids (our dear dear neighbors)
Cuddling with the tiny baby kitten. Kennedy didn't want to leave this little guy.
