Bumps in the Road

The last couple of days have been less than amazing. I don't mean to complain, but sometimes its good to vent a bit. Kennedy, who had previously lulled us into a sense of security with her practically perfect behavior, has turned fussy and basically wont let me set her down. I am also dealing with an infection that is making taking care of Kennedy difficult. Luckily my wonderful husband Tim has gone above and beyond to keep both his cranky girls happy. What a guy. Well, I'm sure things will get better soon.

Frankenmuth, MI

For our Labor Day weekend we decided to head up to Frankenmuth, MI for the night. For all those unaware of what Frankenmuth is...
a) yes, that is really its name.
b)Dracula does not live there
c)it is a quaint little Bavarian town settled by immigrants back in the day
d)Bavaria was/ is a area in southern Germany
e)there are a million hotels and stores with facades like the opening scene of Beauty and the Beast.

It really was a cute little town, and while Tim and I never quite figured out what one does in Frankenmuth, we did enjoy our stay. Here are some pics from our adventure.

Ding Dong the Chair is Dead!!!

We are gathered here today to celebrate... I mean... morn the passing of a most beloved garage sale find. Worth infinitely more than the mere $25 paid for this stunning brown vinyl "man's chair" our home will never be the same without its comfortable seat and breathtaking stench. Despite the dedicated efforts of Tim to de-stink the chair, the years of mildew and perhaps a dead animal or two prevailed in the end. The chair went to garage sale heaven on Saturday July 23rd around midnight and while it may not be in our house anymore, it will always be in our hearts. The chair is survived by Tim, Rachel, and Kennedy who are sure to live on many happy years now able to breath freely in their own home.
The chair is pictured below after the last of many surgical procedures aimed at saving its place in our home. This particular effort took the greater part of Saturday until finally the time of death HAD to be called.

Kennedy's First Swim... well sort of

This last week Kennedy had her first run in with a swimming pool. Jennifer Vos invited us to her in-laws house and I couldn't resit dressing Li'l K up in her tiny swimsuit she got from Jill Wolfgram at a shower. She was a sleep when we got there and the water was pretty cold which made the experience less than a hit for Kennedy. But I got some cute pictures and we had a blast so I consider it a success. We are headed to Frankenmuth (a cool Bavarian town in Michigan) for Labor Day and our hotel has a heated indoor pool so we will try it again and see how she likes any more.

Kennedy to visit Utah!

Yes that's right, we are coming to Utah! (Kennedy and me that is, apparently Tim has a job he must keep or something -bummer) We found a great deal on a flight and in a fit of madness just went ahead and booked it! We will be flying out the 22nd of October on the same flight my sister Kayla is returning home on after her visit to Michigan. I am so excited to see all my family and introduce Kennedy to everyone. It will be great to have this trip to look forward to in the tiring days (and nights) to come. I am a little nervous to be away from Tim for so long and I feel bad to leave him behind, but at least he will be able to go to Utah for Christmas. Hopefully Kennedy will be well behaved for the trip and can get her days and nights straightened out. We have a few months to work on it. Let the countdown begin!!!

On the go!

Here is our sweet little girl on her first outing to Plymouth's Downtown Concert. She is also getting used our baby carrier although she almost too tiny to stay in. Hopefully mommy can start getting out of the house more often.

Goodbye Grandma

Here are some pictures from Grandma's visit. Kennedy loved cuddling with her grandma and posing for her many photo shoots. I had a great time hanging out with my mom and working on projects. We also escaped to the Dairy-go-round for a shake (courtesy of my dad) We already miss her and can't wait to visit again.
